This is called a sippy cup.

and these are called sippy toes, I think.

But I don't wanna wear a dress!
This is me on a hike at Lake Fayetteville. My Aunt Terri came to visit me and we hiked. I played tour guide and talked the whole time. It was wayyyyyy fun.

Ok so I've been super busy & having lots of fun. We took a big trip as a family together. Mommy said it was Thanksgiving and she was extra thankful for me. I got to see lots and lots of people. My great grammy was the funnest. I loved watching her. I loved the songs she sang to me. She made me smile and she made me calm. Mommy took pictures of our trip and will get them posted as soon as she can but she's behind on everything (but somehow she still plays with me).

I am 7 months old today. To celebrate, Mommy let me sit in the front yard and play with the things she calls leaves. I liked pretending like I was gonna eat them.

I'm learning a lot. I say "yahyah". Mommy thinks I'm trying to say "la la". Daddy kept putting me in a weird position, like a cat, our whole trip. I didn't like it & would just put my head on the floor then eventually I'd just roll over. He kept saying something about crawling. I could care less. Daddy also let me play with a piece of ice. It was cold. Last night I waved for the first time. My Oma and Opa came to see me and I waved at Opa. Everyone was excited. Today I waved bye bye to my Mommy's friend Kendra. They were excited too.

You also need to know there's a baby in the house. She lives in the bathroom and sits on the vanity. Mommy takes me in there to say hi to her. I smile at her & laugh at her. It's weird cuz when we're in there, I see my Mommy in front of me and behind me. I can't figure it out.

My Mommy's friend Carol got me this crazy monkey chaser thing. I love it. Mommy says it will teach me to crawl cuz I want it so much. Again with this crawling thing. What's the big deal? Mommy says she really isn't in a hurry for me to crawl. I heard people talking about all the CDs and movies that I will get into. Hum.....I think Uncle James calls it "grab city".

Anyway, that's what I've been doing. Alot. We'll get some pictures up of the holiday but for now enjoy some that are not so recent (they're still good!)

Look at my new video. I was sitting on the bed and Daddy would blow the fan in my face. It was so fun, until but it would make me fall over.

This is me and my Oma. Here you'll see Oma teaching me how to kiss. I can't help but flench a little EVERY time someone kisses me (esp. with Daddy's wiskers). Mommy kisses me a bazillion times a day. Here's a picture of me trying to give Oma a kiss. She's been trying to teach me this skill for months now. Usually when Mommy kisses my cheeks I go ahead and open my mouth the whole time. It's my way of giving her a kiss. Thanks for teaching me this Oma!

This is my feeding chair & the first time I used it. I'm showing off my bib in it. My Great Grammy provided the moolah for it. Yippee Grammy! I like it & eat very well in it.
This is me in the morning...on two separate days. I have tired eyes but am watching my baby einstein dvd...getting smart. I have been getting up extra early lately. Mom thinks I'm not her kid or something. I keep trying to tell her that I really am her Ivy. But she's convinced that no child of hers would get up before 8:00 and I've been getting up at 6 & 7. It's really just a cruel joke.

Apparently I like Edwin McCain. Mommy and I watch Rachel Ray most mornings cuz that's when she feeds me breakfast....nine. Today Mom had just put me in my exersaucer and this guy started singing with a guitar (like Daddy) on TV. I was captivated (that's one of the words in his songs...."I'll Be"). I didn't take my eyes off of him the whole time except for the occasional look at Mom. Daddy is very opinionated about music. I don't know how he feels about Edwin, but I liked him. Mom said it fine that I like him but she doesn't like his long hair.

Look what I can do!
It all started last night. Daddy told Mommy I was sitting up. But when he took me into her, to show her, I didn't want to. I only wanted to eat. So, Mommy was going to change my diaper earlier today so she decided to sit me on my changing table before laying down. She took her hands off of me and I could do it! The first time it was for 39 seconds. Mommy thought the contour of the changing pad might be helping me but she told me she was proud of me. Then she sat me in my crib facing my piano. I showed her I could do it! I fell backward once but it didn't even make me mad. I fell sideways, I didn't cry but Mom sure didn't like it. Mommy is sooooo excited that I can sit up. She'll probably be making do it a ton now. She's been telling everybody that she can't wait to take pictures of me sitting up. So here am...6 months old and super cool.
