Baking with Grandma

Grandma and I made some cookies. This is good grammar I like to use all the time. "So and So and I". Mommy doesn't know why I am using such good grammar except maybe it's because of her good example ;0)

Christmas with Grandma

I didn't get to have Christmas with my Mommy's family so my Grandma is here this week. She brought the Christmas present loot with her and it was fun to open presents!

I showed Tinkerbell how I play with my handheld mirror.

A visit to the firestation

I got to visit a real firestation. Right before we got there the fire engines left to stop a fire. So, we had to wait around a lot at first and I did not like that. But we did get to look up this long pole for a while.
We took a tour of the place and I liked their bedroom because there were just lots of beds in there. Finally the truck came back and we got to look at it.
Then one of the firemen got in their big suit and mask. If we are in a fire I am not suppose to be scared of him, but I was. I didn't want to shake his hand but my Mommy made me anyway.
I was also scared to go into the fire truck and so was my friend Aubrey so we help hands at first and that helped.
This nice fireman helped me into the truck.
And then I didn't want to get out.
The tires on the fire truck are as big as me.
We got to watch the firemen come down the pole. This is faster and safer than running down the stairs super fast.
We all got our very own fire hats!
I like wearing mine backwards.
It was a fun trip.

Library

We don't go to the library as much as I'd like. Probably because I never want to leave when we go. But I was excited about finding the Cat In The Hat book. Mommy read me a few books, even one that was in Spanish.

Favorite thing

I work at my table doing this a lot. I got both of these from my Nana at Christmas and it keeps me super busy. Also, I ask almost every day if I can wear my nightgown all day. Sometimes I get to.

Chowing on some yumminess.

In my own world

playin' around

Reading

I love reading these days. And I can memorize stuff pretty quick. But when Daddy hands me a book to read I'm not familiar with while I'm on the potty I tell him I don't want it because I don't know the words. But sometimes I decide to just look at the pictures and make up my own story. On this day I easily convinced Opa to read me lots of books.

The Love Song

Almost every day I walk into Mommy's room and get on her bed then say, "Mommy, I want the love song."
By this I mean I want to listen to Ingrid Michaelson's "Everybody Wants to Love" over and over and over while I read her CD booklet. I just push the number 2 every time it ends. I will only sing along when Mommy is not recording.
That makes her sad but I don't care.

Mommy: "Ivy, you're being annoying."
Me: "Oh, sorry." giggle.
Mommy: giggle.
The story behind these pictures:
I decided one day that I needed to be lady bug girl complete with red boots and my wings. I also decided these pot lids would make good instruments. I was right. And on this day I also got to go to Walmart with Mommy. And lots of people liked it that I was a ladybug.

LOTS of macaroni

My church tries to help feed the hungry. And one Sunday there was this huge "package" when I walked in. It was FULL of macaroni! It was 1/2 a ton.
We scooped out the macaroni and put them in ziploc bags for needy families.
Mommy said a large cardboard box never looked so good as it does in these pictures.

I am a mermaid

This has always been my Mermaid pose. I learned it from the Mermaids in Peter Pan.
And speaking of Peter Pan My Mommy and Daddy read me the whole J.M. Barrie Peter Pan book even though it had A LOT of words in it. We've also read some chapters of Alice In Wonderland.

Singing my own song like crazy!

Mommy LOVES this one.

Mommy and Daddy found me like this one evening

Snow time with Daddy and my dog.

One day we got some snow and I was very excited. It was super cold and Daddy didn't have to go to work for almost a week! It was easy to convince him that we needed to work on a snowman together.

Daddy is also full of great snow ideas.
I thought it would be fun to draw in the snow with the sled.

snow tools

A shovel and a bucket make good snow tools.

A favorite Christmas thing

I loved how my Mommy decorated one of our tables at Christmas. It had a stable, baby Jesus, his parents, kings, angels, and shepherds. I was not allowed to play with this by myself.
But Mommy did let me add Princess Leia.

organizing

I organized my movies to look like a castle (turn your head)
I like my chairs lined up on the wall.
