There's a duck on my head!

Crawling

Sometimes I'm crawling better now. I can use both hands, one knee, and one foot/leg. It's faster than creeping.

I lost my pants

This afternoon my Mommy put me down for a nap while she took a shower. My Daddy wasn't home. Mommy swaddled me up nice & tight. When she got out of the shower she heard me fussing, but she needed to dry off, put gel in her hair, lotion on her body and all that stuff old ladies do. By the time she made it to my room I was already asleep again. But I was unswaddled. And my pants were off.

Brave?

We have been really crazy busy all week. I don't remember Monday or Tuesday, except that I went to Wal-Mart all three of those days & we spent a lot of time outside too. Oh, "three"...I mean we went to Wal-Mart on Wednesday too. On Wednesday we also went to the Springdale Library and my Mom's old work. I also got to go to Uncle James & Aunt Melissa's for dinner.

On Thursday we went to the Fayetteville library. I haven't been there in weeks and weeks. It's still there and so is Miss Laura who teaches us rhymes and songs. And so are tons of Mommies & kids. This was the first time I thought about exploring the middle of the circle. I didn't go very far. I did manage to coax my Mom into walking me into the middle when Miss Laura brought all the books out.

Then we went to IGA so Mom could get extra yummy chips. Then she carried me to the Cobbler so we could pick up Mom's broken purse. The cobbler said I was real cute and the lady at IGA was super nice to me & talked to me. An old man gave me a tootsie roll, Mommy kept it. Then we went to the hippy food store so Mommy could get some fish oil. She says it helps with my brain development & helps her with a lot...she says she needs help with brain development right now, in the memory area of the brain. We saw a lady named Susan that works there. Every time we go she talks to me and says my eyes are amazing. While we were there I was interested in looking and touching the squash. Mommy held a coconut up to me but I didn't like it.

Then we went to a big consignment sale. I learned how to eat cheerios from the tray of my stroller. I was minding my own business when Mom started talking to someone, it was Amy and Olivia! Mommy turned me around so I could see my friend. Olivia started talking REAL loud. And because I was so tired and was hungry, I cried. I cried loud. Mommy soothed me. Then Olivia started talking REAL loud again. Was she shouting at me? and why? Mommy said she was just happy & that she was sorry that I was so tired. When I saw Olivia later while we were shopping I got upset again. I couldn't help it. I was just so tired and hungry. Mommy found me a toy there. I played with the animal's eyes for a very long time. Mommy finally paid, she went potty and realized she forgot the stuff she bought so she had to go back in and get it. Amy & Olivia were still there. Amy told us to both go home and take a nap so we did.

In the evening James & Melissa babysitted me for an hour & then I got to spend hours and hours with my Dad while my Mommy and Amy went to play with clay. It's no wonder that I am still so tired today. I only went swimming & to the Doctor today. My Oma is coming to watch me later. Mommy says I need a day at home but I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow!
Can you see me? I'm the one with my head in the middle of my mobile. This is way cool to do. I've never done it before.

March of the Penguins

This is Mommy and me pretending to be in the movie "March of the Penguins.

Celebrate!

This is me today. I am in my crib celebrating before my nap. I'm celebrating cuz I didn't have to get shots today! Yippee! You don't get them when you're all caught up and you're 9 months old.
Dr. Jackson said I was in the 30th percentile in height. Mommy noticed I was growing taller last night cuz I'm about to outgrow some jammies I got from my Grandma at Christmas. I am still very skinny. Skinnier than when I was last weighed. Dr. Jackson thinks that's just cuz I was puking so much last week and now I'm being a funky eater. But we're all happy that I'm feeling better. The Doctor told my Mommy I should still keep taking zantac. GROSS! It's disgusting. So now I'm mad at him.

Today I had a super fun time playing in my crib. I'll show you videos once I get them uploaded.

I got cold at the pool today. My lips were turning blue after 15 minutes. Mommy was proud of me though. She let me walk into the water all by myself before lessons started. That was really fun. I walked in until I couldn't walk anymore. My friend Olivia came to my class today but we didn't get to play.

Mommy was trying to hurry and get me warm & dressed when we got in the locker room. She took off my wet clothes then layed me on the warm blanket...and as soon as she did, I peed a lot! Too bad Mom didn't have my clean diaper on yet! I get to go swimming twice next week cuz I get to make up for a snow day. Yippee. Mommy went ahead and signed me up for next month. I hope the water's warmer next week.

bubbles

When you swim you have to blow bubbles I guess. Here I am watching Daddy do it. I'm trying to do it but I've got a long ways to go.

brrrrr.

Daddy was worried about me swallowing water. As you can see in this video, he didn't keep me in the water very much. Mommy thinks that's why I got cold. If you look close, you can see me kick my leg a few times.

swimming 101

Here's one of a few videos my Mommy took of me swimming with my Dad. I took him to my lessons last Friday. It was fun until I'd see my mom by the side of the pool. Then I'd get upset cuz she was so far away. Mommy kept saying "Poor Daddy" cuz he had to try to keep swimming with me while I cried.

First word?

After watching those videos do you think I'm saying my first word? "Dad". I say it like 3 times in the video but Mommy is not sure whether it counts or not. For some reason she's obsessed with being fair. We've been working on "Daddy" and "Dadda" but not Dad. Maybe I'm just a little more sophisticated. I wonder if she ever thought of that.

Cool news....my friend Livi looked at my blog & tried to say my name! AWESOME!

Reading outLOUD part 2

This video was long so my Mommy had to cut it in half so she could upload it & share it. Here is the other half. Thanks Nana & Grampy Vern!

Reading outLOUD

I got something in the mail the other day & it had my name on it. Just my name. It was a card from my Nana. Daddy took a video of me reading it. When you read out loud, you really need to project & speak at a volume that everyone can hear, atleast that's what I'm told. Here I am reading out LOUD.

Love Week

Mommy says that this week is Love Week & that Wednesday was Valentine's Day. I wore red a lot. And on Wednesday Mommy made me wear this bib at every meal. I obviously didn't mind.

I don't understand why there's just a day/week for love. I feel loved every day. Mommy says I am very very very lucky to be surrounded my so many people who show me love. She says not every kid is so lucky.

Big girl

I'm a big girl. These are two ways that I know:
1) Just look at this picture...I look old.
2) I didn't need my Mommy to puke last night. I did it all by myself! In my own bed! I didn't even let anyone know that I did it.

*sigh*

puke-o-rama

I'm still puking. I puked on Thursday, Sunday, and last night. Every time except once on my Mom. Last night it was in the middle of the night. Mom and I were soaked & stinking. Yesterday the Doctor didn't think it was a stomach virus but wasn't sure what was wrong. Today a different Doctor thinks it's a stomach virus. Mom says thankfully I'm only throwing up at night. And the good thing is I'm all about breastfeeding, my appetite is good for that. And both Doctors say that's awesome...gives me nutrients AND keeps me hydrated.

Because I don't feel good, I want Mom all the time. It doesn't help that I'm having a bit of separation anxiety. But I just want her to hold me and be near me ALL the time. I'm sleeping well at night which is great. I'm napping good today too.

That's what's up with me...lots of puke.

By the way it is super cold outside. Mom said it's so cold she thought her eyeballs were freezing. She's a crack up that Mom.

#7

new "stuff" #7: guitar pick. I give myself away don't I? Look how I'm showing Mom what I found. I showed her how I could take my paci out & put the pick in my mouth. She took it away from me & said I'm not suppose to have it. I think Daddy's in trouble.

#6

new "stuff" #6: book on how to care for me from the Pediatric office. Wanna know why this was out? CUZ I PUKED ON MY MOM THREE TIMES IN THREE HOURS LAST EVENING! Oh, and all over me too. It was gross but I didn't cry. My Mom wanted to though. Mommy thought maybe I was getting over my intolerance of dairy foods. She fed me some cheese & some yogurt yesterday & that's the only thing she can think of that didn't settle well in my belly...plus there was evidence of undigested cheese. Need I say more? If that's not it, then I have a stomach bug which has a pretty strong case since I've been cranky most the day and unable to sleep. I didn't throw up today any.
Yay!

swimmin'

I'm a swimmer. I took my first lesson today. Do you like my suit? There were two other girls with blue suits with white polkadots. Guess I'm in style. Swimmin was fun. I liked the other kids. I liked being in the water with my Momma. And once the teacher gave us floating toys, I was set. I chewed on mine a lot. My favorite part was when my Mommy let me float on my back while I rested my head on her shoulder. I was loungin' with my green duck like you wouldn't believe. I was kicking like a swimmer then too. Mommy said that's the only way she likes to swim, on her back. One time Mom accidentally got my mouth in the water. She said she was sorry, but that's how I'm like my Daddy. He doesn't mind water in his face and so far I don't either.

Really, it was fun fun fun. Mommy said I was so good. When we got out we had to walk to our towels. Mommy put mine on me & covered my head then held me close and put her towel on me too. Then we had to walk around the pool to sign a paper. I just cuddled my Mommy the whole time. I was sad when she laid me on her towel to put on my clothes. She was warm! Mommy took a tour of the nursery while we were there. I was zonked by the time we left & I was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. I get to go again next week! Yippee!

Oh and don't you like my hair in this picture?!

Hangin out

Here I'm hangin' out in the garage. Who needs toys when you've got feet to kick around, an upper lip to suck on & invisible gum to chew?

Opa

My Opa makes a great back rest when you're playing with a plastic cup!

Mickey in the box

This is my Jack In The Box...but Jack's not in the box, Mickey is. Anyway, I decided I liked it Wednesday. Mommy turned this thing, it made music & out popped Mickey. Then we told him bye-bye and he went back in & we started over. I was pretty happy about this whole process. It's neat.

Library with Dad

Yippee! Daddy didn't have to work Wednesday morning so I took him to the library with me. That's me in the green. Next to me is my friend Olivia and her Mommy, Amy. At the Springdale library there aren't very many kids & we get to do this dance around the chair thing...we meet up in the middle so we can see each other close.

I was so proud that I brought my Daddy. I laughed a lot & was generally louder than usual. I got tired fast though.

Mommy and I looked at a book. Olivia and I played around all over the floor. We were one of the first to leave again cuz the library just plain wears me out!

Thursday, February 08, 2007

Oh man, I forgot to show you the funniest picture of me EVER. Do you like it or what? Mommy laughs out loud every time she sees it!

Hillbilly

Look I'm a hillbilly with no teeth! Not really. I have two teeth now...you can barely see them but boy can you feel them. I like sucking on my upper lip right now. Mommy likes it too. She laughs a lot about it which makes me laugh.

Here's some more pictures of me having BIG fun at the park. Playing with your hands can be fun. See the picture where my hands are folded together? That takes skill if you're trying to do it but sometimes it just accidentally happens, cool huh?

British Accent

"...and Mum, why didn't you bring the English Tea for a tea party? It is tea time you know." This is what I said to Mom, telepathically. I was just kidding though, we don't have a tea set (but I do have a great british accent).

All Aboard!

I had some BIG fun on Tuesday. In the afternoon it was so nice Mommy and I took a long walk. It was really windy though. We went to the itty bitty Johnson park in our neighborhood. It's tucked away & small. I got to sit in the big baby swing. It was lots & lots of fun. The wind blew me a little. I liked kicking my legs!

#5

new "stuff" number 5: videos (or as my uncky james says...videyas). Even though I can move places I usually don't. All that I need is usually at my fingertips without having to move but every once in a while I explore.

Rhythm lessons

Ok, and the coolest part of the Superbowl? I got some rhythm lessons from my Trevor! I came with my yellow spoon, daddy gave me the big honkin' bottle & Trevor gave me the invisible spoon. Mommy says it's clear, I say it's invisible. It was fun fun fun!
