silly me

Here's one of the silliest pictures of me EVER. Mommy let me eat a mini cupcake with chocolate iceing on it last week so I could practice for my 2nd Birthday party at Nana's. That's what's on my face in this picture.

The party was fun with lots and lots of people there. My Crazy Aunt Celia helped me high five & learn "achoo". I showed just about everyone that I was 1. I played peek a boo with just about everyone too. Some of my Mommy's family were there too. I have lots of pictures and will post them but first I just HAD to show you this picture.

I slept good there. I usually have a hard time sleeping at Nana's but I did better this time. I got to sleep upstairs next door to Nana & Grampy Vern on Saturday night & I slept through the whole night. Mommy & Daddy were super glad not to have me in their bed. I slept with them some of the night Friday night. They keep saying I was taking up the whole bed. Whatever. Either way Daddy said he was so proud of me cuz even though I was so tired I never had a melt down.

Even though I had fun I am so glad to be home napping and sleeping in my own bed. Today I played and slept a lot. I loved playing in the living room with my toys and my feet and playing peek a boo with the baby in the mirror. It was a great day to be home. We even skipped Baby Bookworms. I was climbing all over Miss Laura who leads it last week and I don't think Mommy thought it was very fun to keep having to come get me. What can I say? I like to be social.

Tonight we went to my Carol's house. She has hard floors. I thought it was neat to make myself spin on my butt and go round and round. You should definitely try it.

Laundry day is a blast, just ask my Mom. It's the day I find random clothes in random places. My favorite thing is to find them in the kitchen, wave them around, and then dive on the floor and pretend like I'm swimming. Mommy's wondering when her friend Sara is going to invent the swiffer baby body suit.

Peek a boo

I'm really good at peek a boo. Sadly the video my Mom took of me playing peek a boo using my blankie is too long. But she got these good videos Tuesday night. I can also show you that I am "1". In this video I barely show you, I was being playful about it, and really making my Mom beg.

mmmmm... bear meat

Bear meat is good. Perhaps that is why I sleep and nap so well. I am taking good naps, like for 1.5 to 2 hours & still sleeping all night. Bear meat is definitely recommended for the sleep deprived.

Standing is a 3 part process

1. You grab onto something & firmly plant your feet.

2. You let go & slowly stand up.

3. You lose your balance a bit & fall on your butt.

The whole time you need to make goofy faces.

Presents

Wow. Even though my Mom told my friends they didn't need to bring presents, they did! Here I am in the middle of my pool opening them. Lots of people gathered around and watched. See that guy 4th away from my Mom? His name is Pat & he scared me. My Mommy, Daddy & Carol said he was really nice but he still scared me. That's the only time I cried. Anyway, opening presents is confusing. I would pull out a toy, think it was cool, start to play with it, then someone would take it away from me and give me a different one. Really confusing.

Sunday Breakfast

Mommy & Daddy have lots of stuff to do on Sunday mornings. Lately I get to have my 2nd breakfast at church. Mom sets this chair up for me, puts me in the middle, gives me some mandarin oranges & then I watch, eat and rock out with the band. It is sooo much fun! I'm not kidding. I smile at everyone. I clap for the music, especially when Daddy sings "Make A Joyful Noise to the Lord all the earth".

Miss Cheeks

Here's some pictures of one of my friends (she's Sam's sister - you know, the cool dancer). My Mommy says I am so lucky to know so many kiddos who are close to my age. Elisabeth is 5 months younger than me but she is about as big as me. She has lots of nick names but our favorite is Miss Cheeks cuz she has atleast 2 pounds of cheeks. I included a picture of me wearing her shoes. They had monkeys on them & we wear the same size, how could I resist? I liked it when she smiled at me.

This other picture is the day of my big Birthday party. She was there before I was, ready to party down.

Oh!

This is a new face I make and my Mom LOVES it. She can't get enough of it (she calls it my turtle lips). She really likes it when I make the face and say, "oh!"

I woke up yesterday morning with this scratch on my nose. Someone scratched me while I was sleeping & it wasn't very nice!

Babysitters

Sometimes I have babysitters. They are always fun. On one night my Deb and my Brian watched me. They took these pictures and this first one is my Mom's new favorite. I had sooooo much fun with them.

Sometimes I can't stop movin' and talkin'

First Step

This is my cake. It had a lot of pink stuff on it called icing. It makes your hands gooey and I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Yesterday when I was messin' around standing on my own, my Mommy was excited. Once she had me standing in front of her and she scooted back. I took a step toward her then fell on her. My mom was really happy and my Daddy was too. I don't understand what they were so excited about.

FANtabulous

Wow! I just had a FANTABULOUS day. That Birthday thing I've been telling you about happened today. My whole day was fun. Cake is pretty good but it's not nearly as good as pureed sweet potatoes. Honest.

Gobs of people came to my party and I got to open gobs of presents while sitting in my new pink pool. My Deb and my Brian got it for me & it looks great in my living room.

To top the afternoon off Mommy watched me play with all of my toys. She had fun watching me explore. I can climb in and out of my pool pretty good. I was getting so distracted while playing with my toys that I was standing for a really long time all by myself. It's more fun to use two hands while you're playing.

I'll show you lots more pictures and tell you a lot more as the week goes on cuz my whole family is super tired. It was a super duper day.

swimmin stuff

Mom says I need some swimmin stuff. She says Uncle Pat said we can come swim in his pool all summer. So there's a gift idea for you. Mom says I need sunscreen & some safety stuff.

Also, I went to Olivia's Birthday party & she got a dog. It was yellow & Mom said his name was Pluto. When I saw him come out of the bag, I dropped what I doing and headed straight for him.

kidney bean or a jelly bean

When I first found my purple "egg" Aunt Melissa said it was funny shaped. Mommy said it was either a jelly bean or a kidney. I just liked playing & hitting the eggs together.

Feelin' good

I keep forgetting to tell you that I've been feelin' good the last few days. I've been so much fun, almost hyper. I've been goofy. And I've been moving a 100 miles an hour. I've been destroying, sorta, our living room by playing with all of my toys. I even discovered that the VHS tapes are toys. There's this brown thing that when you pull on it more and more comes out. Mommy and Daddy didn't think it was a good idea. So, if you're looking for more Birthday gift ideas, fun kid DVDs are a good idea, or did I tell you that already? My memory will improve with age, for awhile.

I have been sleeping all night long again too. Even then I was only waking up cuz I needed help finding my pacifier. Plus, I thought we lost my favorite blankie but Mommy found it. yay! I have been sleeping all night since then.

Do you know what else I do ALL the time? Clap. I have been clapping for months now but now I do it ALL THE TIME. It's fun & Mommy loves it.

Now this was THE best part about hunting eggs here. The back of this big truck had toys glued to the back. Seriously, they were rusty balls. I liked them but I couldn't get one off to put in my basket. So, I put the egg in the basket instead. I wasn't interested in eggs after this. I would have been happy to stand here and play a while.

Now this is how it's done. 1) You spot the egg & smile at the camera cuz you want to show Mommy that you see it. 2) You get real close to the egg & put your hand on it so that no one else can take it. 3) You put the egg in the basket. 4) You play with it.

Mommy told me days later that the eggs open. I think they make great toys but they don't really taste that good.

I don't remember why I was crying in this one picture. I was frustrated for some reason but Dad helped me out. Seriously, I liked just sitting and playing with the eggs & the little basket so Mom and Dad let me.

Daddy liked my "crime fighting" cheetah outfit. I wanted to tell him it wasn't my crime fighting outfit, it was my hunting outfit.

I'm sorry I'm so late in posting Easter pictures. I have been super busy as usual. On Easter Sunday Aunt Melissa & Uncle James took me out to the country where AM's sister lives. There were 200 eggs to find. I almost found all of them! Can't you tell, I had like 7 or so when I decided to sit down and play with them. I have lots of pics to post, so enjoy!

Ouch! Ouch! OUCH!

My mouth has really been hurting lately. I was grabbing and pulling at my mouth the other day. And I was crying hard & loud. I was in pain & moody.

Daddy even tried giving me a popsicle, hoping the cold would feel good & I'd be distracted by the yummyness of it. I was not.

I decided if anything would help, a piece of ice would but I couldn't hold it there for very long & it was melting.

Eventually the tylenol kicked in and I felt much better. Later, my mouth was dripping. Streams of drool were soaking my shirt, plus my nose was pouring out too. I was a gross mess but I was happy.

No one knows what teeth are trying to come in. For some reason, no one will stick their finger close to my two sharp teeth. I have been feeling better today. I haven't been grouchy AT ALL and it's already after 4! This makes Mommy & Daddy so happy.

I have another Birthday gift idea. There are two cardboard books I really like but Mom can't find them. One is an Elmo book that is also a little puppet. You put your fingers behind Elmo & make him move. The other one is called Funny Faces. It has little holes for the eyes. That way when someone reads it to me they can put their eyes where the holes are and it looks like they're wearing a mask!

Birthday ideas

Ok, two apologies:
1) I'm sorry I'm blogging without a picture.
2) I'm sorry I haven't blogged with birthday present ideas.

Some people have asked my Mommy for ideas. If you're shopping for toys Target is your best bet cuz they have gobs of them. I like the toys in the infant section and in the toy section. Mommy took me there today to play with them. I like the infant section cuz some toys have mirrors and I like to see that baby. Some of the toys also play music that I like. I saw a caterpillar in the infant section that is numbered up to 5. It's suppose to help me learn colors & numbers but I really just like the music. Then there was another toy beside it that when you push something, one of them roared like a lion & I liked it. And when you pushed the alligator a little girl laughed. I liked looking at all the mirrors.

In the bigger kid section, I liked the toys that were in the 6 (?)-32 months section. That's where I saw the "bee bop band" like what we borrowed from church. There were all kinds of stuff on that aisle that I really liked.

Mommy keeps trying to remember to take a picture of my silky so you can keep an eye out for one. On one side it's just white & silky. On the other side it's super soft with four colors. It's a square. It's kind of like a blankie but it's small. Mommy thought it came from Target but we still didn't see them there.

There are lots of cute clothes EVERYWHERE we go. I don't need much except for some summer jammies. I wear a size 12 months in shirts. I wear a 9 months in pants, pretty much, but can fit into almost anything from 3 months to 9 months but I have a few pairs of pants & shorts that are a size 12 months & they are small so I can wear them. Anything that is a one piece, including jammies, I wear what my age is and I'll have room to grow in that size. Mommy has been looking for summer jammies where the shirt snaps to the pants at the waist but she hasn't seen any. In shoes I can't wear anything over a size 2. I don't really need shoes though. I just got some new ones at Easter and since I'll be walking, it's best to not wear any so I can use all the muscles in my feet, including my itty bitty toes.

It seems like Mommy and I were talking about a few more ideas but I can't remember them. I hope that helps but really, I'll just be glad to see you and so will my parents. And, it looks like there's so many coming to my party that I won't even notice if you come empty handed! Oh yeah, I like puppets but don't have any....

Power of a card

One day I was playing, as you can see by the mess of the toys in my picture. I decided to crawl to the table and I found this fat brown thing so I opened it up.

Then Mommy came in the room and asked what I was doing.

I showed her the card I had chosen. It was a Sam's Club card & it had Daddy's picture on the back.

Mommy said I had a lot to learn about "new stuff" #18 which is Daddy's wallet. She said if I'm gonna choose a card I need to skip the Sam's Club card & choose one that actually has power.
