swimmin' is fun

Ok, so I had a busy & great weekend...before I started walking. And speaking of, walking wears me out! I've taken 3 good naps for the past two days.

On Monday night we went to a party. There was a pool & a hot tub. I hung out in the hot tub with Mom, Dad, my Brian & my Debra. It wasn't very hot, it was like my bath water. It was nice and relaxing. I had a good time in the pool.

My Aunt Melissa put my feet in the water first. I splashed and got wet. Eventually Dad got his suit on and we went swimmin' together. I loved it.

We were at Pat's house. He makes me nervous & I cry when I see him. He has a cool salt water fish tank though. It is huge & I watched it and said fish for a long time. It was awesome.

Here's also a picture of the bunny. I got to pet his ears. I really liked its cage.

We had a cook out and my Kendra grilled me a hamburger it was really yummy. I had a good good good time.

Crash and Burn

Ok, so you can't make comments to Dad & Mom about how mean they are that I face planted. It wasn't their fault & as soon as Mom picked me up I just wanted to keep going. Daddy said, "You know what comes next right? Black eyes and bruises." Mom just said she was glad we had carpet.

I even remembered how to do this this morning!

These legs are made for walking

Did you know that legs are for walking? I decided that was true today. Last night I took some steps by myself so I could get a good look at a pet bunny. Then I took 5 steps showing off for Aunt Melissa.

Today, Mom plopped me on my feet on the carpet and just kind of let me go. I went walkin' like crazy, for like an hour. I walked so much Mommy & Daddy couldn't keep track. The weird thing is that when you reach your destination, or fall, you must crawl back to Mom. She is the start line, no matter where she is or where you are.

Mommy and Daddy were real proud of me. I was napping when Uncle James came for dinner, so I didn't get to show him. I showed Oma & Opa though. I walked the living room some more. It was fun.

Mommy says it's so neat. I didn't walk to anything or anyone in particular. I just realized that it is fun to use your feet and legs like this. So I just explored & practiced. I'd walk to my toy box then crawl back to Mom. Over and over. Practicing.

Daddy got some video & we are uploading them (it doesn't upload quickly). You'll see all 4 videos soon, even my first crash landing.

And guess what? TODAY is my 13 month birthday. I decided to walk exactly one month after I turned one. Cool.

Climbing Ivy

I am officially a climber. One day Mom came into the living room and found me like this.











So I stayed up there and played a while. I liked looking at the baby in the glass.

Pretty

One day mom took me on a walk. There were gobs of these pretty flowers by someone's mailbox. Mommy picked one for me. I held it for the entire walk. Flowers are pretty.

Cup

I use a sippy cup every day. I'm gettin' good at it but this cheapo cup that spills is the one I like the best.

I still don't like milk unless it's "homemade". This is my last week to breastfeed. I'm down to gettin the goods only one time a day now.
So, I really only drink water & juice from my sippy cups. My Mommy sneaks milk to me (even with choc. in it) but it still gives me the shivers.

My dolly wanted to wave hi to all of you so I helped her.

This second picture is with my other dolly (she's not as cute). My Grace also got me a baby stroller for my birthday. I'm learning how to use it.

My special dolly

I have a special dolly. I really like her. I like hugging her and patting her. I like tapping her feet together and her hands together. I also like feeling for her pulse (as you can see).

It's special cuz my Grace gave it to me. She use to play with it when she was little. Thank you Grace. I love her.

Organization 101

Mom recently cleaned & reorganized her side of the closet. I discovered the cleanliness the other day. I didn't like it so I re-reorganized it. I liked playing with the drawers cuz you could move them. Then I learned you could take all the stuff out. Mom says HGTV will not be hiring me anytime soon.

Check out this new "toy". Since Mom couldn't even get it out of the box Dad did & he put it all together. I helped by holding the flag and making sure it was in good working order.

Even though these pictures show otherwise, I DID have a good time in my bike trailer. Uncle James & Aunt Melissa came & rode bikes with us. I talked to Dad's back while he pumped his legs and took us places. It was fun.

Don't get me wrong, this is really cool but I did something even greater after this. Tonight I took 2 baby steps towards Mom. My Daddy, Uncle James & Aunt Melissa saw me do it. Daddy was sure glad he got to see it.

Destiny

This is the closest family member I have in age on my Mom's side I think. Her name is Destiny. Look how much she is loving on me. It is so sweet.

Family

Here's some of my family. Here's my Grammy, Grandma and Uncle Danny. I don't get to see them nearly enough. My Grandma loves to love on me & laugh at me. My Grammy plays games with me and sings neat songs to me. My Uncle loves to talk to me.

I'm a creek girl

Friday night my Mom went out all by herself. To a show. So Dad and I hung out just the two of us. It was cool. He took me for a ride in my red wagon. I hung out and had a good time. I stayed up real late and waited for Mom to get home.

Yesterday afternoon me and Mommy took a trip to the country with Oma. We went to the middle of no where. Oma knows someone who has a cool cabin in nowhere land. We went there to pick up some mattresses and stuff. It was a fun bumpy ride and the cabin was really nice to talk loud in. The best part was the creek. It was very pretty.

Mommy touched the water and said it was really cold. I wanted in it so Mommy took my shoes & socks off. Oma was holding onto my hands but I wasn't real sure about how the rocks felt on my feet so I held one up very high for a long time. Then I couldn't help it, I dipped my toes in the water and it was neat. And I thought it was neater and neater the more I got wet. Finally Mom just grabbed my hands and we went walking through the creek together. I loved it. The rocks were smooth and the water cold. I liked splashing my feet in it. Eventually I was ready to just dive in but my Mommy and Oma said we needed to go. I was so sad I cried. I wanted to stay in the freezing cold water and splash! Mom said she could cry cuz she was sad she forgot the camera.

Last night Mom and Dad had a gig. I was awake & having fun playing my drumstick on the table at first. I got sleepy fast and spent about an hour on Opa's shoulder, completely relaxed. We got home super late. Mom nursed me and I had more energy and I played some more. I didn't go to bed til midnight!

Today is a pretty normal Saturday. We haven't had one of those in a long time. Normal Saturdays are fun cuz Dad gets me up in the morning & I get to play play play. We are going to a wedding tonight. It's kind of in the country too, well it's a long drive anyway. And tomorrow should be normal too. Yay for normal!

It's been beautiful. It is nice and cool. I took two walks in the stroller yesterday. When I went with both Mom & Dad, Dad wrapped a light blanket around my legs cuz it was chilly.

I went to Baby Bookworms today in Fayetteville. I haven't been in a while cuz I keep sleeping in and missing it. Not today. I was up before 8.

Today we had a special treat at the library. A lady named Jules was there. She brought her guitar. She does stuff that I think my Crazy Aunt Celia does. But I know my CAC does it better & has an even better & bigger smile. Not that Jules was bad. You just can't really beat my CAC.
Anyways, I had fun. I was watching her real close when she was talking about the doors on the bus go open and shut...she was making big movements so I copied her and SHE SAW ME. It was cool. Miss Laura passed out cool jingle bells and every single one of us kids got to play(eat) one. It was very fun.

My Olivia was at the library. She had lots of fun too. Mom said I'm not gonna see her for a long time cuz she'll be traveling a lot. That will be sad.

This afternoon we went to a hospital. We met a brand new baby. His name is Ryan Swope. He is small & I like the way he talks but I don't like it when he cries. It makes me cry.

Tomorrow Mom and I are taking a short trip with Oma. We're going to a different town to pick up something for the shabin. It should be fun.

Super star

Look! My Oma is showing me that my dad is a super star! He's on TV! I thought it was wayyyyy cool.

Stranger anxiety has set in. Today mom took me to the office where she use to work so I could play with my friend Gabby. I was scared of George. Then I saw the guy that works next door. I clung to Mom like never before. Then I went to the next office. They had dogs and I was very excited. But I was shy to the men that work there. I didn't want to look at them very long & didn't want to talk to them. So apparently only men are strangers.

I discovered that this last office has stairs...oooh those are fun. I like to climb them at my Aunt Melissa's and Uncle James'. Mom let me climb only like 2 of them then took me home. I was poopy and tired anyway.

This weekend I learned a new word, "James". I can say the J real well. He helped me learn to show that I am "1" like in this picture. He's actually taught me an awful lot. Including some things Mom and Dad would NOT teach me.

Hooray!

I had ANOTHER big weekend. My Aunt Melissa is now a Doctor. She just graduated. That meant some friends from Tulsa came just for that and we got to have their dog, Henry, for the whole weekend. He made me very excited but Mommy said I scared him. I liked it when he walked past me. I really liked it when his tail brushed my face.

On Saturday there was a big party for Melissa. I got to go & I saw a saltwater tank full of big & pretty fish. There were also some other kids there and I let lots of strangers hold me. I also played the piano & I watched other people play it. I liked watching their fingers. I got super sleepy though.


Later we went to another graduation party & I saw Olivia. SHE CAN WALK ALL BY HERSELF. My Mom thinks she walks like an old lady. She takes super small steps and is very careful, but it's so cool. Mom says I will do that soon too, but only when I am ready. I'm not ready just yet but almost.

Right after that we went to Aunt Melissa's and Uncle James' for dinner. I ate salmon but I didn't like the asparagus.

On Sunday I didn't nap on my Aunt Bob so Daddy took me to the nursery. Lots of my friends were in there. Eventually we all cried. Melissa told my Mom I would cry when Olivia would. I didn't like seeing her sad.

I was good at the restaurant even though I was sleepy. Mom and I hung out all afternoon cuz Dad went to a movie. Mom said that when it's Father's Day, SHE'S going to a movie. I don't get it.

So that's my big weekend. Mom says her and I are doing something called "weaning". I haven't noticed anything different so I'm not sure what she's talking about. She says this is our 2nd week of working on it. I haven't noticed anything except that I've been getting to drink a lot of my juice/water combo & Mom keeps trying to get me to drink nasty milk from a cup. It literally gives me the shivers.
